Rachel Noonan is a contemporary abstract artist and colour lover working from her home studio in Newcastle. Dabbling in a range of visual arts including printmaking and weaving since a child, her love for painting was reignited during maternity leave from her twenty year career as a Secondary School Head Teacher.

She works predominantly with acrylics, inks and gouache to create bold colour combinations and layers of texture.  She is inspired by the bright colours and patterns found in nature, fashion, and textiles, especially those captured during her travels. Most importantly, she is focused on evoking the feeling of joy that she gets from painting and spending cherished time with her loved ones into her work.

As a busy mum, educator and self-confessed dreamer, she values the time taken to create beautiful artworks that create positive emotions and immerse others into the world of colour.
